Advancing AI-driven mobility analytics for smart cities

SEEDiA has officially joined the NVIDIA Inception Program, a global initiative supporting companies developing breakthrough solutions in AI and accelerated computing. This partnership will strengthen SEEDiA’s ongoing work on AI modules for mobility analytics, enhancing smart city infrastructure across Europe.

Using NVIDIA technology to power edge AI in the city

As urban mobility grows more dynamic, cities require accurate, real-time data to understand how residents move through public spaces. SEEDiA is developing AI modules capable of:

These modules run directly on SEEDiA devices—such as solar charging stations, smart benches, e-bike hubs or information totems—powered by NVIDIA Jetson edge computing platforms.

Improving mobility safety with on-device AI

SEEDiA’s upcoming AI module focuses not only on traffic counting, but also on safety. The system can detect:

  • pedestrians entering a bike lane,

  • cyclists riding onto pedestrian walkways,

  • near-miss situations in busy mobility corridors.

In such cases, the module can trigger audio alerts, flashing signals or notifications to city operators.
All processing is performed offline, ensuring complete privacy protection.

Integration with InCity.io for advanced data analytics

Data generated by the NVIDIA-powered AI modules is visualised in InCity.io, SEEDiA’s smart city management platform. Municipalities can view:

  • real-time mobility counts,

  • heatmaps of pedestrian and cycling flows,

  • trends by hour, day or season,

  • safety incident logs,

  • aggregated sustainability indicators.

This helps cities optimise bike lanes, improve pedestrian safety, and evaluate the impact of new infrastructure.

AI modules deployed across SEEDiA products

The NVIDIA-supported AI system will be available across multiple SEEDiA solutions:

  • solar bike and scooter charging stations,

  • solar bus shelters,

  • information totems,

  • urban data counters,

  • future energy and mobility monitoring products.

This modular architecture allows cities to build data-driven infrastructure step by step, using the same integrated ecosystem.

Part of a growing ecosystem of smart mobility projects

SEEDiA’s work with NVIDIA is part of a broader expansion of mobility solutions across Europe. Recent deployments include:

Together, these projects demonstrate how combining renewable energy, AI and reliable infrastructure shapes the future of sustainable mobility.
