Supporting the development of AI-driven public services and smart city innovation

SEEDiA has been selected to join the Google for Startups GovTech AI Program, an international initiative supporting technology companies that create modern digital solutions for governments, municipalities and public services. Participation in the program strengthens SEEDiA’s development of artificial intelligence tools dedicated to urban mobility and smart city infrastructure.

AI as a foundation for modern public services

Cities across Europe are increasingly relying on data to make informed decisions about mobility, safety and infrastructure planning. SEEDiA develops AI modules that help municipalities understand how residents move through urban spaces, enabling more efficient and sustainable transport systems.

The GovTech AI Program supports these efforts by granting access to:

  • Google AI experts and technical mentorship,

  • advanced tools for data processing and machine learning,

  • consultation on public-sector procurement and sales,

  • best practices for implementing AI in government environments.

Developing AI modules for mobility, safety and urban analytics

As part of the program, SEEDiA is advancing its AI systems designed for:

  • monitoring pedestrian, cyclist and scooter traffic,

  • analysing flow patterns during peak and off-peak hours,

  • detecting safety incidents on shared mobility paths,

  • generating aggregated, GDPR-compliant urban mobility indicators.

These modules operate directly on SEEDiA devices—charging stations, solar bus shelters, smart benches and mobility counters—without the need to send data to external servers.

Integration with Google tools and cloud capabilities

As part of the GovTech AI Program, SEEDiA gains access to the latest Google technologies, including:

  • machine learning frameworks,

  • cloud-based analytics,

  • scalable data architecture resources,

  • tools for building secure and compliant AI systems.

Combined with SEEDiA’s energy-efficient hardware and solar-powered devices, these capabilities create a strong foundation for resilient, data-driven public infrastructure.

Training and support for selling to public institutions

An important component of the Google program is practical training in:

  • public procurement and tender procedures,

  • structuring GovTech partnerships,

  • navigating municipal sales cycles,

  • developing long-term city-focused business strategies.

This strengthens SEEDiA’s ability to scale its solutions across European municipalities and deliver high-value digital infrastructure.

Enhancing SEEDiA’s smart city ecosystem

The collaboration with Google enriches SEEDiA’s entire product ecosystem. AI modules developed under the GovTech program will be available in:

  • solar bike and scooter charging stations,

  • solar bus shelters and information totems,

  • mobility counters and smart kiosks,

  • future energy and sustainability monitoring tools.

All data will integrate seamlessly with InCity.io, providing cities with a single platform for monitoring mobility, energy usage and infrastructure performance.
