SEEDiA and Chopin in Athens!

Our City solar bench appeared in Athens! In addition to basic functions such as LED backlight, USB chargers and inductive chargers for mobile phones, it will promote Polish Culture in Greece by recreating the music of Fryderyk Chopin! The bench appeared as initiative of the Polish embassy on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Poland and Greece. It works only thanks to solar energy, and residents can use it in the gardens of the Cultural Center of the Stavros Foundation Niarchos. It is a place that combines a cultural center and care for the environment. Last year, over 5 million people visited it!

Ambassador Anna Barbarzak and Lidia Koniordu – former Greek Minister of Culture, president of the Cultural Center of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation where there for the symbolic handover of the bench and cutting the ribbon. “We are very pleased with this contribution from the Polish side, and that in this symbolic way we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries” Lidia Koniordu told Polish Radio.

See how our bench in Athens looks like. It will be an innovative solution for the city’s residents and in addition you will be able to spend your free time listening to our native composer! We are happy that we could add our Polish accent to the Greek daily life!
